How To Disassemble the Seat Belt in a 1974-1981 Camaro
- Remove trim at the headliner and remove the retractor from the roof structure.
- Remove the bolt holding the floor anchor in place and remove the assembly from the car.
- Save hardware to be reused when reassembling.
How To Install a New Seat Belt in a 1974-1981 Camaro
- Assemble retracors and floor anchors without hardware to familiarize yourself with the way the new seat belt installs in your car.
- Check for clearance and interference issues before moving forward with installation.
- Slip the floor anchor through the slot in the plastic trim and bolt in place reusing the original bolt.
- With care not to twist the seat belt webbing, attach the new retractors to the roof structure using the original hardware and new washers.
- Reassemble the headliner trim parts.
