ResourcesFrequently Asked Questions
"What Seat Belt will fit my vehicle?"
Seatbeltsplus.com is proud to offer Seat Belts that are assembled, sewn, finished and packaged in the U.S.A. with foreign & domestic components. They are aftermarket seat belts and should not be considered original factory replacement seat belts for any car. We can NOT obtain OEM (original equipment manufacturer) seat belts or individual parts such as buckles, tongues or trim coverings. If you require a original factory replacement part please contact your vehicles manufacturer. However, if your seat belt is no longer in production, impossible to find, or if you don't want to shell out hundreds for the price of an OEM seat belt, then one of our aftermarket seat belts may be the solution for you. Our seat belts are affordable and fit most cars and trucks on the road today!
"How will I know if this seat belt fits my vehicle?" -Check before ordering.
We legally can not tell you any of our aftermarket product fits your car. Our Seat Belts are designed to be generic in order to cover as many applications as possible. There is no list or reference that matches our aftermarket Seat Belts with your factory application. We can tell you how to measure and examine your existing seat belt to find the best replacement available based on length and buckle style. When purchasing a retractable safety belt please ensure you will have enough clearance for the retractor housing. All retractors should be mounted directly beneath the shoulder loop either on the door pillar or to the floor with "L" brackets and feed vertically.
#1- Check how your seat belts mount.
Before ordering please verify you can remove all trim covering access to your seat belt and hardware. Newer vehicles may hide retractors and components behind plastic panels. You will also want to check there are no twist or places the webbing will rub in the path of the seat belt.
#2- Determine what length Seat Belt you will need.
Always check if our belts will be long enough to fit your application prior to ordering. If you do not see the information you are looking for please call us and we will be happy to assist you. Measure both sides of your existing seat belt. Our Lap Belts range from 60 up to 90 inches to best suit your need. Our 2-Point retractables are 53 inches on retractor side, buckle side varies depending on model. Our 3-Point retractables are 133 inches on retractor side, buckle side varies depending on model.
#3- Check how your retractor mounts.
If you are ordering a retractable seat belt remember the RETRACTOR MUST MOUNT VERTICALLY DIRECTLY BENEATH THE SHOULDER LOOP! Do NOT mount retractor at an angle. If necessary use a level to ensure proper installation. Do not mount retractor flush to the floor, behind seats, or mount on the ceiling. The inertia centrifuge was not designed to work in these positions and will not lock when installed improperly.
#4- Measure what length Buckle you will need.
Next measure the length between the buckle and the location you wish to mount it. Our Buckle sides vary in length depending on the seat belt model. We offer a variety of buckles to help you find a match as close as possible to your original. If you require additional information click on any of our belts and read our item descriptions.
NOTE: This is an aftermarket/universal seat belt and is not meant to work with OEM factory components or sensors. Seat belts must be replaced as a complete unit. Do NOT mix and match our tongues/buckles with original equipment components, they will not match up correctly.
What if my vehicle never had seat belt?
Some custom applications where seat belts were not originally part of the car may required drilling holes and using re-enforcement washers to support the seat belt anchors. Our Retractable seat belts work with inertia reels and must be mounted vertically. If you do not already have a location to mount the retractors vertically you will need Hardware Kit #1 and the "L" brackets supplied within.
Our aftermarket Universal Fit Seatbelts are designed to fit many different vehicles. Before purchasing your seat belts, you will have to determine which seat belts will fit into your vehicle based on mounting points available in your car, required length, and available space for retractor housing. Visit our Seat Belt Compatibility page for help. Please be advised that our universal seat belts will not fit every vehicle and they may require some modification to the mounting points to fit some vehicles. It is very important to review our Seat Belt Compatibility page and measure your vehicle before you buy!
Our Car Specific Seat Belts are made to factory specifications for the listed model year. These belts are designed to bolt right into your vehicle using the existing mounting points. Please note, these seat belts will only fit into the vehicle make and model year as specified on the website. They are not designed to fit any other vehicle.

We are proud to offer aftermarket seat belts made by Seatbelt Solutions. Our seat belts are proudly Made in the USA with foreign and domestic components. You can rest assured knowing all our aftermarket seat belts are continually tested and adhere to strict federal safety regulations and standards. When you buy from us, you can feel confident knowing that you are getting the finest quality replacement seat belts on the market.
What is the difference between foreign-made seat belts and our seat belts? One main reason why Chinese made seat belts are appealing is their price, but when you buy from SeatBeltsPlus.com, there is no price difference. We offer high quality seat belts at low prices. Foreign belts are tested to foreign standards, not American standards. Often times, foreign manufacturers simply do not understand our safety requirements. For example, some foreign made belts state they are "DOT Approved", but the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulates tire manufacturing, not seat belts. The fact is, overseas manufacturers are not held to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS ) like American manufacturers are.
We offer the best value for premium seat belts. Do not settle for cheap, low quality seat belts when buckling in yourself and your loved ones.
More about Seatbelt Solutions
What Makes a Seat Belt Safe?
Seat Belts are often purchased and installed with little thought to the overall safety of the product. After all, seat belts are designed to save lives. However, not all seat belts are equal. Seatbelt Solutions, manufacturer of our universal fit and car specific seat belts, are located in Jupiter Florida.
All of our seat belts are engineered, sewn, and finished in the USA with foreign and domestic components. Our seat belts undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, also known as FMVSS.
FMVSS 209 stipulates that all seat belt components must meet standards based on three aspects: Strength, Performance, and Durability.
Tensile testing measure the STRENGTH of the seat belt components. The Tensile machine works by applying tension to the seat belt components to the point of failure. This test helps to predict how the seat belt will react under strenuous forces.
PERFORMANCE of the seat belt is defined as how a seat belt performs when in use. Components used in the assembly of the seat belt must be tested to ensure they perform correctly. A Tilt Lock Machine is used to test the adjuster locking bar in adjustable seat belts. The machine provides a digital readout indicating the proper specifications for proper locking of the adjuster.
In retractable seat belts, the performance of the retractor must be tested. A G-Force Production Sled provides test results necessary to certify all types of retractors. It tests for tilt and lock distance to ensure 100% quality performance on all retractors.
To test a seat belt's DURABILITY machines must simulate normal use over the life of a product. There are three different machines to do this.
The Salt Spray Cabinet conducts a 48 hour salt spray test in which the seat belts are exposed to a highly corrosive environment. After 48 hours in this environment, seat belts are visually inspected for corrosion and then undergo strength and performance testing.
The second durability test is conducted using a Performance Cycle Tester. This machine will test the seat belt components over and over again to determine the life of the product. Each retractor will endure 50,000 cycles, ensuring the durability of our seat belt components.
Finally, our seat belts must undergo the Webbing Abrasion Test. Webbing abrasion testing ensures the durability of the webbing material. This test is performed before and after simulated use. The test includes scraping the webbing over course material for over 2,500 cycles and then testing for any decrease in strength.
All of the this test equipment allows Seatbelt Solutions to regularly test for the safest seat belt products in the aftermarket industry, with the results to prove it!
Seat Belt Safety Regulations
Effective on March 1, 1967, seat belts are required by law as standard components to your vehicle. Each state's laws differ, but wearing a seat belt is required across all states as either a Primary Law (ticket for not wearing seat belt), or Secondary Law (ticket for not wearing seat belts only when there is another citation).
Since then, seat belts have saved thousands of lives and helped reduce bodily injury by stopping the second impact (passenger colliding with car interior). According to the Department of Motor Vehicles- "Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among people age 44 and younger and the number one cause of head and spinal cord injury. 63% of people killed in accidents are not wearing seat belts."
Seat Belts save lives. Don't risk your life or the lives of your loved ones.
Our Seat Belts are assembled, sewn, finished and packaged in the U.S.A. with domestic & foreign components. Our manufacturer thoroughly tests and inspects our lap belts, 2 point retractable seat belts, 3 point adjustable seat belts and 3 point retractable safety belts to ensure they meet and exceed the highest safety standards at a cost effective price.

Our Seat Belts are tested in the USA, to USA Standards.Other companies import foreign made retro-style seat belts that have been tested to foreign standards. The truth is if your seat belt is not manufactured and tested to pass in the United States of America, there's really no way of verifying what standards the seat belt is subjected to.
Safety is our top priority! Our seat belt manufacturer, Seatbelt Solutions consistently test all buckles, webbing and components in house at their Jupiter Florida Location.
